December at the winery

Winter has arrived, our first in our new winery facility (pictured above) on 10 acres, just outside the town of Amity, in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley.

All the barrels of wine we produced this past harvest are resting quietly until they’re ready for bottling in 10-18 months, depending on cuvee. This month is quiet in the vineyards as well, with the vines having dropped all their leaves and hardened off for the winter.

Meanwhile, we’re hosting tasting appointments for anyone who joins our mailing list or is already a subscriber. Join our Vincent mailing list here.

We’re also planning sales trips to Europe in February and Asia in May, to meet with our importers there and ideally find more. The Oregon Wine Board has organized several events that we’ll be part of on both continents, which is amazing. What terrific advocacy they do for us – let’s just hope the tariff threat doesn’t materialize, what a disaster if so.

We’ll be offering our next set of prerelease wines to the mailing list in February, so make sure you’re on the list for all that. We’ll also be offering our next vintage of our Fritzsche Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in May.

We’ll let our Vincent list know about the Cabernet offering, but we maintain a separate Napa list to get into all the details. Join the Fritzsche Cabernet Sauvignon mailing list here. And know that, just like our main Oregon production, our Napa project is focused on wines of elegance and grace, not the norm in Napa these days, but more in line with the wines that inspired us 30+ years ago. Check it out, it’s something special.
