2014 Vincent Pinot Noir Bjornson Vineyard – $39
2014 Vincent Pinot Noir Zenith Vineyard – $39
2014 Vincent Pinot Noir Eola-Amity Hills – $27
The 2014 Bjornson is a blend of 75% Pommard and 25% Wadensvil clones. Vines in my blocks are dry farmed, soils are 18 inches of iron-rich red clay over fractured Basalt bedrock. There is always a pronounced raspberry fruit to Bjornson, with bright acidity from this cool, windy site. After pre-sale to my mailing list, only 15 cases still available. Don’t delay.
2014 Zenith comes from the same block of Pommard planted in 2003 that I’ve worked with since 2009. The south facing slope here is gentle, the soils thin sediment over blonde marine sedimentary bedrock. This vintage gives an unusually powerful expression of Zenith that’s approachable now and should cellar well for at least a decade.
The 2014 Eola-Amity Hills is a blend of barrels from Zenith, Bjornson and Crowley Station, all sites within the Eola-Amity Hills AVA. With the vineyard designates selected for their structure and persistence, the Eola-Amity Hills bottling is a blend of less complex but still delicious wines. You can cellar this for several years if you like but I like it for its youthful charm.
All of my wines are made from sustainably farmed if not certified organic vineyards. I use a very light hand in the cellar, with all native yeast fermentation, minimal punch downs or other extractive techniques, no new oak, bottling without fining or filtering, and careful use of SO2.
To order, email Vincent with your selections and provide shipping address and phone if you require shipping.
